Jackie Hoodoo
Cutting his teeth on the UK mod scene of the late 90s and early 2000s, Jack co-ran the well loved Blackeyed Soul Club in Los Angeles from 2008 onwards. Always looking for the new and obscure dancefloor heaters, Jackie has played all accross LA’s RnB, Soul, Funk and Garage/Psych scenes in recent years as well as lighting up Live Streams throughout lockdown- including Greg Belson’s 45s of Fury sessions.

Known the world over for digging deep and highlighting the soul and funk sounds of Gospel Music; through his Divine Chord Gospel Show on dublab radio and his work with labels like Cultures of Soul (Divine Disco, Divine Funk), Luaka Bop (The Time For Peace Is Now), and Honest Jon’s (Savoy Records – A Stranger I May Be). No one-trick-pony of course, Greg’s racks are thick and go back to the beginnings of Deep Funk and beyond!

San Diego native Mark is well known for digging up and discovering an eclectic mix of sounds and bringing them to the people via live shows, his Mixcloud and also regular mixes for Juke Joint. Expect the best in soul, garage and more at Mark’s first LA show!

Hailing from Inglewood, THURZ creates hip hop music with fabric covering all the facets of the young, black Los Angeles experience with threads from Belize and West Africa, and a tailor-fit touch to literally keep the house party going. With expertise in event curation, Thurz created the Nation’s number 1 traveling hip hop music house party concert series, Party In My Living Room, powered by your local, neighborhood art dealers. The party series was launched as a late celebration of his Designer EP and took place in February of 2015 in his hometown, Inglewood, CA. Not knowing what type of response to expect, over 500 attendees arrived at the house party where Thurz set up his band, sound engineer and DJ all in a living room with a few artist friends to help set the vibe.
Over 20 parties have taken place to date from Inglewood, Coachella, Chicago, Atlanta, Miami and more, but with the current restriction of social gatherings on a National level, Thurz is using Party In My Living Room as digital performance platform being driven by PIMLR Sessions. PIMLR Sessions showcases Thurz and Talk Box extraordinaire, Wali Ali Jr. performing songs from the MORE THURZ ON THURZDAY series, where Thurz released songs every week throughout 2020 amidst the Pandemic to populate a playlist across DSPs. The playlist features collaborations with producers DJ Khalil, J.LBS, Dem Jointz, Iman Omari, KOB, Emani, ML3, DK the Punisher, Jeron Ward, MeLLBeets, JohnnyStormBeats, Jansport J, C,Watts and more.
